Pay the Artist Policy
ITMA’s policy is set in accordance with the Arts Council’s Pay the Artist Policy (2020) which provides best practice principles for all those engaging artists.
Policy Statement
Through our work, ITMA is committed to the principle of fair remuneration for professional artists. As per the Arts Council’s Pay the Artist Policy, “remuneration is fair when it equates to what is asked of an artist in terms of their time, input and expertise”.
Remuneration includes fees, travel related expenses, benefits and non-cash incentives.
Fair and equitable remuneration for artists is a priority for ITMA and is actively implemented as part of ITMA’s budgeting process rather than being budget dependent.
ITMA will continue to support the professional development of artists by ensuring our commitment to universal access to our collections as outlined in ITMA’s Strategy 2019-2023.
In addition, ITMA will continue to support artists and their work by providing access to studio space, rehearsal rooms and recording equipment.
ITMA Policy Actions
