An older name for this jig is ‘Katie’s Fancy’. I’ve often heard another three-part jig mentioned as ‘The Newly Mown Meadow’. Confusion about their titles may be attributed to much enthusiasm for playing them – especially around the East Galway area. It’s another tune I’ve picked up from several old musicians I used to meet at sessions.
