Seamus Ennis played this one on an old 1974 Gael-Linn LP called ‘The Wandering Minstrel’. He also sang it as a song on the same LP, with information that tells me he collected the song in 1943 from Colm 0Ó Caoidheain of Glinsce, Cashel, Connemara. Seamus later made a slip jig out of the song with firm instructions from his father on how it should be done! The title translates as ‘The Fair Canavans.’
