The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.
The piper Patsy Touhey is remembered as a tall, stocky individual who often played this one. It appears that someone saw to it that Patsy be remembered for his physique as well as his music. The Kerry accordion player Mick Mulcahey played this at the Co. Clare Fleadh Cheoil at Kilrush in 1968. While I was there, I learned it from Mick.
