This jig was one of piper Séamus Ennis’ tunes. Before playing it, he would joke at the idea of tea being a cure for hiccups, chillblains or flu-related annoyances. This kind of sneering was very much in keeping with the lanky piper’s reverence for the curative powers of the pure drop.
