The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.
Céilí dancers react well to this one, which was often played at dances in the Mansion House in Dublin during the 1960s. I learned it from a tape recording of an RTÉ television programme known as ‘Beirt Eile’. It was the first television show of Irish traditional music back in 1963-64. Many guest céilí bands were featured at the time, which enabled me to learn this jig.
