The Ballinakill Céil Band of east Co. Galway recorded this with another hornpipe called ‘Rick’s Rambles.’ I learned it from the B/C accordion playing of Joe Burke who plays it with great conviction and desire. I haven’t heard many members of the fiddling fraternity play this one except for Patrick Ourceau of Paris / Toronto. It’s a hornpipe that demands careful attention and consideration as one probes into the process of learning its melody.
