This I first heard from box player Jackie Daly when his music was aired one afternoon on RTÉ radio. Later the same polka was played by DeDannan shortly after Jackie joined the group. Céilí bands involved took a strong liking to the tune, which took on an extra sense of expression with the combination of extra instruments, and Johnny ‘Ringo’ McDonogh’s taste in patrolling the polka with his bodhran.
