    The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance.     Irish-based donors can see their donations augmented by the State through the CHY3 form, which makes any donation above €250 worth €362.33 towards ITMA’s archival work, at no additional cost to you.

    This is an old reel that I first heard many years ago at a Fleadh Cheoil where a group of session musicians were sitting in a dark pub. The sight of a dozen black pints is still in my memory as they played this reel. The tune slipped my mind for many years until a CD called ‘The Kitchen Recordings,’ with Sean O’Driscoll (banjo) and Larry Egan (two-row box) was mailed to me from Cork. Suddenly I was able to revisit the tune and get to know its melodic merits all over again.
