The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.
Most people who play Irish traditional music know of John Kelly, who was a concertina player and fiddler from near Carrigaholt in west Co. Clare. This is a slide he liked to play on his concertina, and it’s named after a lone island at the mouth of the River Shannon near the coast of Co. Clare.
