The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.
Garrykennedy is a small Tipperary town close to the River Shannon and was a great meeting spot for sessions during the 1990s. The music sessions were usually led by members of the Ormond Céilí Band, whose personnel included fiddler Eileen O’Brien, and her father, the late box player and composer Paddy O’Brien, who wrote this jig during the late 1960s.
