Turlough O’Carolan (1670-1738) composed this as a slow air on his harp. I learned it from the great harper Ann Heymann of Minneapolis/ Winthrop, Minnesota. After playing it for a short while, I decided to rearrange it into a set dance, which I gave to Clare fiddler Joe Ryan, who recorded it on his solo CD.
