When I was a teenager, I sometimes had music sessions with fiddler Joe Delaney of Edenderry in Co. Offaly. He was in his sixties, and had a lot of experience at picking tunes from O’Neil l’s book. He was the one who introduced me to Turlough O’Carolan’s compositions, and Planxty Hewlett was one of the first he gave me.
