It is said that Johnson was an Anglican clergyman who admired O’Carolan and his music. In return, O’Carolan honored him with this composition set in lively jig time. It can also be played at a slightly slower pace much like a walking march. My playing of this piece is influenced Sean Ó Riada’s interpretation.
