President Thomas Jefferson was well known in his day for playing this on his fiddle, which is why it was named after him. However, during the American Civil War, it was renamed ‘Remember Lincoln and Victory’. It’s another walking march, played by fife and drum bands. It also has lyrics and was often sung at parties hosted by Jefferson.
