The English translation is ‘The Battle Hymn of Munster’. It was played at a banquet in 1395 for the lords of the Pale, who invited Art Mór Mac Murchadha and his harper to be present. The said invitation was a lure or trap as a way to capture Mac Murchadha. However, Mac Murchadha escaped, on horseback, having fought his way through a ring of soldiers.
