The name or title of this tune brings me back to around 1963 when I first met banjo player Seamus Egan, who has always lived beside Lumcloon cross near Ferbane in Co. Offaly. I learned thejig from Seamus, who would always advise me to play the old tunes instead of what he called ‘the factory ones’. Seamus also informed me that Michael Coleman had recorded this tune on one of his 78s.
