The Archive has recently acquired an interesting collection of small printed song books from the turn of the twentieth century, most of them published by the Felix McGlennon company of London. They were donated by Jim Carroll and Pat Mackenzie of Miltown Malbay, Co Clare. In addition Jim and Pat have recently donated the latest tranche of digital sound recordings from their entire large field collection of singers and musicians, which was made between the mid-1960s and the mid-1990s. This collection is being donated to the Archive by degrees.
Also received were over 400 LPs from RTÉ per Harry Bradshaw. These were part of the resource collection of his long-running radio series ‘The Long Note’ and particularly represent music of the 1970s and 1980s.
