Paddy O’Brien published three tune collections between 1998 and 2012. Each collection holds 500 tunes, bringing the total of tunes to 1,500. He recorded each tune individually and released them first on cassette and then on CD. An accompanying book for each collection tells the story of the tune, where Paddy learnt it, who he learnt it from and his associations with it.
The full collection of 1,500 tunes is presented here, due to the generosity of Paddy himself and of Mark Bickford. Mark also transcribed most of the tunes and synced the audio recordings in Soundslice. This is the first time that the collection has been presented with transcriptions of the tunes.
