    The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.

    Make your donation go further: a donation of €250 or more in any tax year is worth an additional 44.93% to ITMA. So for €50 more, ITMA can claim an additional €112.33 tax back from revenue.

    Irish-based donors can see their donations augmented by the State through the CHY3 form, which makes any donation above €250 worth €362.33 towards ITMA’s archival work, at no additional cost to you.

    ITMA is eligible for 501(c)3 donations, so for potential donors based in the USA, donating to ITMA can be a tax efficient way of making more and more archival material accessible to remote users.

    Frankie McCormick

    Frankie, a banjo player, hails from Blackwatertown on the border of Counties Armagh and Tyrone, where his father was a leader of the local Comhaltas branch. He is left-handed and has a unique upside-down method of playing the tenor banjo that developed when he had to learn on an instrument strung for righties. Frankie made the move to America in 1986 and lived the hectic life of a carpenter by day and a bar band musician by night for many years. He now lives on Long Island and serves as the chair of the North American provincial board of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.
