Instrumental influence and personal creativity come to mind when I listen to John Naughton’s setting of this jig. John was a concertina player from Derrynagitta, near Kilclarne in the parish of Feakle in Co. Clare. His sense of involvement in the melody of this tune is a remarkable achievement, especially when one listens to the first setting of the tune (which can be found in Volume One) and makes a comparison.
