The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.
I remember trying to play this one when I was twelve years old. I had just received my first accordion which was a one-row Hohner box. There were no musicians in my locality to help me track down the notes of the jig, so I had to go it alone. I still remember the trials and tribulations of learning it and the great feeling when I found a few notes of its melody. It’s also in O’Neill’s 1001 collection.
