    The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance.     Irish-based donors can see their donations augmented by the State through the CHY3 form, which makes any donation above €250 worth €362.33 towards ITMA’s archival work, at no additional cost to you.

    ITMA is eligible for 501(c)3 donations, so for potential donors based in the USA, donating to ITMA can be a tax efficient way of making more and more archival material accessible to remote users.

    West Co. Clare is a well known gathering place for tourists who walk to the top of the cliffs for an awe-inspiring view of the Atlantic Ocean. On its very edge can be seen the remnants of O’Brien’s Tower, which is said to be haunted. The best playing and interpretation I’ve heard of this jig was by the great Dublin fiddler Tommy Potts (1912-1988), who played it in G minor.
