There are several variants of this tune, which I first recorded on a Shanachie Records LP in 1978. This setting I learned from the music of Tony Mac Mahon, when he played it one night in Slattery’s Bar in Capel Street, Dublin on a Wednesday night in 1970. Tony told me he got this particular setting from Dublin accordion player Sonny Brogan.
