Going to work one morning in 1971, I was almost out the door when I heard the radio playing a track from an LP. I stopped and listened. It was Ceoltóirí Chulann playing to a live audience at the Gaiety Theatre. In the middle of Sean Ó Riada’s arrangement was the sound of an accordion playing this tune. The musician was Sonny Brogan and it was the first time I heard this tune.
