This is probably one of the first hop jigs I was drawn to during the early 1970s when I listened to Seán Keane play it in his mother’s kitchen. He told me he got it from Tommy Hunt (1908-1994) who played it for him on the whistle. Tommy, who was from near Ballymote in Co. Sligo, also played the uilleann pipes and flute.
