The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.
This is a very old jig that was first taken from Francis O’Neil l’s 1850 tune collection and recoded on a 78 rpm in the 1930s by Co. Meath fiddler Frank O’Higgins. I learned it from a Raidio Éireann broadcast by Malachy Dorris’s céilí band when they were featured on a ‘Céilí House’ program in 1963.
