I have played this jig often, and christened it ‘The Well-Wisher’ because I wanted to remember it and include it here. And then, thanks to Mark Bickford, I learned it was a composition from Billy McComiskey, who named it ‘The Rabbit in the Field’. A nice piece of music that serves well for listening or playing for dancing. It’s a welcome addition to the culture of traditional Irish music.
