O’Carolan’s’ is another name for this tune that was coined by Paddy Moloney and the Chieftains when they played it as a welcoming tune for the Pope when he visited Ireland in 1979. The composition reflects O’Carolan’s diversity and how he was influenced by music from Irish folk culture, Gaelic culture, and Italian Baroque music.
