The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.
The appeal of this reel is widespread because it is appreciated by both musicians and people who don’t have any skill for playing an instrument. I believe the satisfying nature of this tune has resulted in its many settings. Some of the variations played here are from fiddlers John Kelly and Paddy Fahy, whose second part version I thought I’d include.
