Father P.J. Kelly of Woodford, Co. Galway, composed this three-part jig, which was given to Paddy O’Brien of Co. Tipperary. O’Brien’s playing of it on Raidió Éireann in the early 1960s launched the tune’s recognition and players of B/C accordions throughout Ireland and the U.S. were quick to place it into their repertoires.
