I was told about a man who danced polka sets. He was close to seven feet tall and looked very funny as he bent down to accommodate his lady partner. People were always happy when he’d arrive for a night’s dancing because he’d a great sense of humor. When dancing, he’d twist and jut out his behind as he tried to minimize his height. This was how he got the name ‘Long Tom’.
