There is a second version of this, a well-known piping tune which is played with seven parts, ideal for showcasing a piper’s technique and ability. However, this four-part setting is of a different nature. It is often played by fiddlers or accordion players such as Joe Cooley. I learned it from another radio recording of fiddler Seamus Connolly, who played it with dexterity and ease.
