Joe Burke played this one as a companion to ‘The Ballinakill Hornpipe,’ which I wrote about earlier. Sarah Ann O’Neill was a Chicago fiddler, but no relation to Captain Francis O’Neill. The tune is not often played nowadays, which may be a reflection on prevailing trends, or perhaps the avoidance of the hard work involved in learning a four-part hornpipe.
